David Warren

David - ProfessionalAn APICS member since 2001, David joined the Blue Ridge Chapter board of directors in September 2009. He brings 20 years of industry experience from manufacturing and distribution settings and maintains two APICS certifications – CPIM and CSCP.
 
David’s background spans across the automotive, furniture, consumer goods, and construction sectors. He is experienced in the application of many LEAN tools, including Value Stream Mapping, Theory of Constraints, kanbans, SMED, 5-S and kaizen events. And, he is Six Sigma Green Belt trained. Armed with this background David has been very successful in pursuing his passion for affecting positive change in every role he has performed; whether it’s increasing customer service levels, changing procedures to assure product quality, training personnel in revised or best practice processes, or driving costs out of an operation.
 
A Navy veteran, David served seven years on active-duty as an officer and naval aviator after graduating from the US Naval Academy with a BS, Aerospace Engineering degree and passing the Engineer in Training examination in the State of Maryland. He lives with his wife and their youngest daughter in Mount Jackson. Their three older children are in medical school, pursuing a career in nursing, and working at undergraduate studies, respectively. David enjoys spending time with his family, bicycling, hiking, golf, tennis, and woodworking.
